Japanese producer charged with assault

A Japanese producer has been charged with assault following the beating of a 25-year-old selector.

The accused producer is 27-year-old Jakuya Nakamura of a Hibiscus Avenue, Barbican address.

Reports are that the disc jock and the producer, had a previousrun-in while in Japan. The complainant reportedly told the police thathe was invited to Japan by the accused but was beaten while there. Hesaid his ordeal was also video-taped.

Further reports are that on October 21, Nakamura invited thevictim to his home. It is alleged that while the complainant was there,he was beaten and battered. A report was made to the Grants Pen police,who visited Nakamura's home with a warrant and conducted a search.

A quantity of marijuana and a chillum pipe were reportedlyfound. He was also charged with possession of ganja and possession of achillum pipe. The matter is expected to go before the court this week.
